Jakub Vrba wurde in Karlovy Vary geboren und lebt in Wien. Seine künstlerische
Arbeit setzt sich hauptsächlich aus Zeichnung, Skulptur, Video und Film zusammen.
Aber nicht nur. Die Comics und Zeichnungen finden Platz auf Seiten von Magazinen
sowie als Teil von kollektiven Projekten und er baut (pyrotechnische) Skulpturen
und Kostüme in der Tradition des Barocktheaters.
Er adressiert die Begriffe von Spektakel, Pathos, unbezahlter Arbeit, und die
Diktatur der Alltagskontingenz. Er tut dies durch Stellung und Nachstellung, Probe,
Studie des Raumes durch formelle und metaphorische Übungen und manchmal Humor.

Jakub Vrba was born in Karlovy Vary and lives in Vienna. His work consists
mainly of drawing, sculpture, video and film. But not only. Jakub Vrba
contributes with comics and drawings for different magazines and collective
projects and he also builds (pyrotechnical) sculptures and costumes in the
tradition of baroque theatre. He addresses notions of spectacle, pathos,
unpaid labour and the dictatorship of everyday life contingencies. He does so
by exploring enactment, reenactment, rehearsal, the study of space through
formal and metaphorical exercises and sometimes humor.
